PhilWeb Corp. has a new president starting next month.
The company puts a long-time executive in the position effective Feb 1.
In a Stock Exchange filing yesterday, the listed gaming firm claimed that its newly-elected president is Brian Ng.
According to PhilStar, the position became vacant when Dennis Valdes resigned as the president.
Ng, however, is not new to the top management team of the company. He has been PhilWeb’s senior vice president for gaming the moment he joined the company back in January 2011.
Before he entered the company, he worked for different renowned companies.
He was with Affinity Express Philippines, Inc, RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing, SPi, as well as the Print Town Group of Companies.
Valdes earned his undergraduate degree and master’s degree from Ateneo de Manila University.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and an MBA.
Valdes Moving to Alphaland
Meanwhile, following his resignation, Valdes’ next post is with Alphaland Corp.
Valdes has nothing but kind words and wishes for Ng.
According to him, the company is very pleased with the election of Ng as president.
He described Ng as being capable, as demonstrated through his years of work in handling the company’s gaming operations over the past years. He also said he is confident that Ng will bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to the company.
The company will need this new force as it strives to be successful in both the e-casino and e-bingo industries.
PhilWeb Had a Successful 2019
2019 was a particularly good year for PhilWeb.
It ended the year with a total of 89 electronic gaming outlets. Some of these are directly-owned.
Some are under management control.
Among these are 66 e-games outlets. Another 23 are e-bingo outlets.
All of them are profitable for the company.
According to Manila Standard, Philweb, in the first nine months of 2019, suffered a net loss amounting to P26.79 million.
However, this is significantly reduced from the net loss of P70.84 million back in the first nine months of 2018. Moreover, gross revenues for those nine months increased to P394.9 million.
Revenues amounted to only P296.9 million in 2018.
PhilWeb is an accredited service provider of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.
It operates a network of electronic gaming outlets.
BigGame Inc. and Easy E-Bingo Inc. are its two wholly-owned subsidiaries.
Both are making waves in their respective sectors – e-games and e-bingo, respectively.
