Know that the Korean conglomerate Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co. Ltd. is acquiring 57.78 percent of the outstanding shares of PIP. Lotte already owns 38.88 percent of PIP. Once the tender offer is finished, they will have owned 96.66 percent of the company. The Philippine Stock Exchange strictly requires that all publicly-listed companies must maintain a public float of at least 10 percent. If this is not maintained, PIP can be delisted from the Exchange. We don’t advise buying more shares of PIP at this point. Accept the tender offer instead. The tender offer started on December 12, 2019 and will run until January 15, 2020.
