Ayala Corporation announced earlier that an institutional investor had completed a long-term private placement of 8,810,000 common shares at a subscription price of PHP 916.00.
The placement price is a 1.08 percent discount to the 30-day volume weighted average closing price. A total of PHP 8.07 billion worth of proceeds was raised and effectively increased its public float from 51.6 percent to 52.3 percent.
The proceeds will be used to acquire properties or assets needed of the Ayala group as well as for debt repayment.
The new shares are part of the carved-out shares as defined in its Article Seventh of its Articles of Incorporation, the issuance of which is exempt from pre-emptive rights. These shares will also be listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange and will constitute 1.4 percent of its increased common stock.
The company also declared a cash dividend of PHP 3.46 per common stock with a record date of July 6, 2018, and a payment date of July 22, 2018.
AC appears to be correcting after testing resistance. The 15 EMA, 20 SMA, and 50 SMA are acting as support.
Furthermore, Volume is still thin and is not clear on the direction of the trend. MACD appears bullish. RSI is also bullish but is moving sideways.
A possible reversed head and shoulders (H&S) is also nearing completion should present support hold at 934.78. Meanwhile, the neckline resistance is expected at 980.62.
If the breakout materializes, immediate target is around 1083.
