Earnings Highlights:
• Revenues grew by 7.86 percent in the year 2017 versus 2016
• Net Income attributable to parent for the year ended December 2017 stood at PHP 12.77 Billion
For the first quarter of the year, consolidated revenues reached PHP 12.57 billion. Majority of the revenues came from the sales of condominium units and residential lots accounting for 55.03 percent of total revenues.
Furthermore, real estate sales grew by 4.97 percent to PHP 7.20 billion from PHP 6.86 billion a year ago.
Rental income grew by 16.53 percent at PHP 3.37 billion from PHP 2.89 billion last year. Revenue from hotel operations increased by 9.93 percent at PHP 368 million from 334.77 million in 2017.
Net Income for the quarter reached PHP 3.29 billion, a 12.51 percent increase. Notwithstanding, it was at PHP 2.93 billion in the same period last year.
Today, July 10, 2018, MEG announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Suntrust acquired Stateland Inc.
Stateland Inc. is a 42-year-old real estate company that builds affordable quality homes and communities in South Luzon and some parts of Metro Manila. This adds another 150 hectares to Megaworld’s existing raw land portfolio.
Stateland has also been building residential and office condominiums in Makati City, Quezon City, San Juan, Mandaluyong, and Binondo.
MEG is still trading inside an extensive range. The price is below most moving averages with the 15 EMA, 20 SMA, and 50 SMA as immediate resistance.
Volume still seems to side with the bears. MACD is poised for a bullish crossover. RSI is moving sideways and is at neutral levels.
