Metro Pacific Investments Corporation has the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) as its tollways venture.
The MPTC has two key projects in its portfolio. One of them is the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
The other major initiative is the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
Philippine daily newspaper The Philippine Star reported that the MPTC is presently busy with various programs.
This month, the tollways firm is on the path to finishing the replacement of 1,078 median and interchange LED lighting.
This project runs from NLEX Balintawak to Bulacan’s Tabang. As MPTC aims to promote road safety for motorists, this initiative is a part of their efforts.
Another project of the subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation is the replacement of old road signs.
Furthermore, it intends to install additional units of these signage.
Through this MPTC venture, motorists traversing the southbound and northbound sections of the NLEX-SCTEX will relish better visual navigation.
The MPTC plans to complete this project by May. Luigi Bautista is the president of the NLEX Corporation.
Plus, he is the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation arm’s general manager. Bautista’s group is the concessionaire for the SCTEX and NLEX.
He spoke about the Harbor Link C3-R10 Section of NLEX lately. He said that this thoroughfare measures 2.6 kilometers.
By next month, Bautista said that it would reach completion.
With this development, the NLEX Corporation’s chief executive officer relayed that they expect an approximately seven-percent surge in vehicles using this modernized road.
He said that they are hoping that this figure would increase once the whole motorway gets opened fully.
Last week, the NLEX Corporation opened the Harbor Link C3-R10 Section’s Malabon Exit.
Once the entire Harbor Link C3-R10 Section becomes available for use in March 2020, it would start service at the Caloocan Interchange, C3 Road, in Caloocan City.
Then, it would end at Radial Road 10 in Navotas City. The Harbor Link C3-R10 Section of the NLEX links to the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10.
This road measures 5.65 kilometers. Moreover, it was opened for business previously. The Harbor Link C3-R10 Section passes through 5th Avenue and C3 Road in Caloocan City.
Moreover, it goes through Karuhatan in Valenzuela City. Finally, the Harbor Link C3-R10 Section passes through Malabon City’s Governor Pascual Avenue.
According to the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation’s unit, the whole Harbor Link C3-R10 Section will serve roughly 30,000 motorists daily once opened.
Bautista relayed that, last year, NLEX Corporation’s toll network recorded its average daily traffic at 340,000.
This figure consists of the average daily traffic in SCTEX reaching 70,000, and 270,000 for NLEX, he said.
