Why Use the Price-Volume Distribution Chart?
The price bar at the top of the chart represents the intraday high. The price bar at the bottom represents the intraday low.
This chart helps us decide where we should place our buying or selling price. Through this chart, we can see the prices that got the biggest volume with the highest number of trades at a glance. Here are some reasons why I use this chart.
- helps us identify reversals, divergences, or false breakouts
- shows the prices that got the biggest volume with the highest number of trades
- tells us if the majority of the volume is registered near the intraday high, intraday low, or median
- gives us a clue if cross trades happened at a certain price
- helps us know the stock’s Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP)
How to Interpret the Price-Volume Distribution Chart
VWAP – This stands for the Volume Weighted Average Price. It was said that institutional brokers buy at or near the VWAP. They do that because they don’t want to disrupt the market depth.
That’s the classical belief. I created my own observations. Below are a few of them.
- Is the VWAP below the current price and is the current price lower than the previous trading day’s closing? Therefore, the intraday bearishness might continue.
- Is the VWAP below the current price and is the current price higher than the previous trading day’s closing? Therefore, the intraday bullishness might continue.
- Is the VWAP above the current price and is the current price lower than the previous trading day’s closing? Therefore, I maintain a neutral sentiment. I see that as an on-going tug-of-war between the bears and the bulls.
- Is the VWAP above the current price and is the current price higher than the previous trading day’s closing? Therefore, the ball is still in the court of the bulls.
Also, I have other observations in relation to the mean of the intraday high and low. However, that’s reserved for the subscribers of EquiPicks. That’s documented in our Quick Start Guide already.

Why Use the Top 10 Players Chart?
I created this chart to help our EquiPicks subscribers become better traders and profitable investors. The buying and selling averages of the top 10 brokers are a sneak preview of the range of their collective average price.
How does this chart help us?
- helps us see if the top 10 brokers of the stock are buying the dips, selling the rips, or moving sideways
- ranks all of the brokers who have traded the stock as of the time of checking
- tells us the buying and selling average of each of the top 10 players of the stock on a real-time basis
- helps us see the psychological average price of the top 10 players of the stock
- shows us the buying average and selling average of each of the top 10 players
- tells us the cumulative buying average and cumulative selling average of the top 10 players
You can calculate how much more can the top 10 players can probably afford to hold, which is relative to their collective risk tolerance should the stock’s price go south.
How to Interpret the Top 10 Players Chart?
- Is their buying average ABOVE the median of the intraday high and low and their selling average? If yes, there is a higher percentage of chance for the uptrend to continue.
- Is their buying average ABOVE the median of the intraday high and low but BELOW their selling average? If yes, the price might move sideways.
- Is their buying average BELOW the median of the intraday high and low and their selling average? If yes, there is a higher percentage of chance for the downtrend to continue.
- Is their buying average BELOW the median of the intraday high and low but ABOVE their selling average? If yes, the price might move sideways.
